Previously vs. Post
• Georgian Court is still in search of their first ever win against Post. The Lions are 0-12 all-time against the Eagles, which includes an 0-6 mark in Lakewood.
• Three of the 11 games have been decided by 10 points or less. Two of those by nine points and an 84-83 overtime loss in 2018.
• One of those nine-point losses came last year in Lakewood.
• What was not a 10-point loss was their meeting earlier this season in Connecticut.
• Post scored 52 in each half and won going away, 104-72.
• The Eagles shot 50.6% overall and made 17 threes.
Individual Milestones
•
Amar Lane is three rebounds shy of 100.Â
•
Elijon Nix needs two points to get to 50 in his first season at GCU.
•Â
Donavin Crawford's next game played will get him to 90 and make him the fourth Lion to ever play in 90 games.Â
Who's Hot?
•Â
Donavin Crawford is scoring 15.2 points over his last six games with five double-digit point games in that span and two games knocking in six three-pointers.Â
•Â
Tesneem Ajeigbe is shooting 73.7% from the floor over his last seven games. He matched a career-high with eight points at Dominican.Â
•Â
Taheen Braswell-Brown has 17 points in his last two games.
•
Cam Edmonds had his 14th 20-point game of the season at Wilmington.Â
•
Jaycen Santucci made 7-9 from the floor against the Wildcats.Â
Double Dipping
•Â
Cam Edmonds has scored at least 10 points in 51 straight games.
• That broke Caleb Bowser's record from January, 2019-February, 2020 of 31 straight games.Â
Block Party
• The Lions individual single-season record for blocked shots has already been broken this season.
•Â
Amar Lane swatted his 32nd block, needing just 14 games to set a new single-season record. He's now at 58 and counting.
• Lane also matched the Lions single-game record blocking seven shots against Wilmington.Â
• As a team, Georgian Court has recorded 138 blocks this season. It's their first season with 100 or more blocks.Â
•Â
Tesneem Ajeigbe is up to 31 blocks this year which trails only Lane for single-season blocks at GCU.Â
• The Lions have 28 blocked shots in their last four games.Â
CACC LeadersÂ
• Georgian Court is up near the top of the league in a couple of defensive categories.
• Their 5.1 blocks per game lead the CACC and are sixth in Division II.Â
• Georgian Court is also fourth in the CACC in field goal percentage defense as teams are shooting 43.9% from the floor.
• GCU is scoring the fifth-most fastbreak points in the conference at 11.3 per game.Â
• Led byÂ
Cam Edmonds, GCU's 18.6 free throws made per game are second in the CACC and are 11th in the country.Â
• The Lions are back in the top-five in rebounds per game with 36.4 and are third in defensive rebounds with 25.7.Â
•Â
Amar Lane leads the league with 58 blocks and 2.22 per game. He's 17th nationally in both categories.Â
•Â
Tesneem Ajeigbe is also in the top-10 in the CACC in total blocks and blocks per game.Â
•Â
Cam Edmonds leads the CACC scoring 21.3 points per game which ranks 14th nationally. He's also got the most free throws made and attempted in Division II.Â
• Edmonds is one of four active players in Division II with at least 500 made free throws. He ranks third in Division II and 10th in all three NCAA divisions in made free throws among active players.
•Â
Jaycen Santucci sits eighth in the league with 4.5 defensive rebounds per game.Â
•Â
Donavin Crawford is third in three-pointers made per game and total threes.Â
The New CACC
• This season, the CACC will have a new look to it. The league currently stands at 11 teams with Bloomfield having departed after the 2024-25 academic year.
• The league has also done away with the North and South Divisions in favor of a single set of standings with all 11 teams.Â
• Additionally, there's been changes to the league schedule. Teams will now play all CACC opponents twice, once at home and once on the road. Â
Playoff Picture
• Heading into the weekend and with just one game left in the regular season, there's still a lot left to be determined in the CACC standings.
• The CACC is working overtime to figure out the standings and seeding with 20 different tiebreaking scenarios still remaining as possibilities.Â
• There's only one team locked into a seed and that's Felician who has clinched the No. 1 spot.
• Goldey-Beacom and Jefferson are also ensured of a home game in the quarterfinals as either the No. 2 or 3 seed.Â
• Caldwell, Dominican and Post are all batting for the 4-6 seeds with all three still able to clinch a home playoff game.Â
• As far as Georigan Court is concerned, they're battling with Holy Family and Bridgeport. All three are tied at 7-12 with just two spots, the No. 7 and 8 seeds up for grabs.Â
• The Lions are in the pole position as a win locks up a spot no matter what Holy Family and Bridgeport do, but they can still get in even with a loss.Â
• A three-way tie of any kind (8-12 or 7-13) gets GCU the No. 7 seed. This is also true if Chestnut Hill creates a four-way tie at 7-13.Â
• If the Lions and Holy Family only are tied at 8-12, Georgian Court is the No. 7 seed. If the Lions and Bridgeport are tied at 8-12, GCU drops to the No. 8 seed.
• Should GCU lose Saturday, a loss by Holy Family will also get the Lions into the postseason, with seeding based on Bridgeport's result.Â
About Post
• Post has struggled down the stretch as they continue to fight for seeding and a potential home game in the CACC Tournament.
• The Eagles are 11-16 overall 10-9 in the league but just 2-5 in their last seven games.Â
• They've been a far different team in true road games where they're just 2-11, compared to 8-4 when playing at home.Â
• Post loves the three-ball and their 9.6 makes per game from behind the arc lead the CACC.Â
• When their offense is clicking, Post is hard to slow down, but it can be a struggle at times for the Eagles to score.
• Seven times Post has scored at least 80, including three times at 99+ points. However, nine times they've failed to reach 70 points and twice in the last seven games didn't score 60.Â
• The Eagles are a plus in the turnover department, at +1.3. They lose the ball 12.6 times per game, fewest in the league while forcing 13.9 giveaways.
• Rebounding is where Post has some trouble. Teams are outrebounding the Eagles by 3.2 boards per game. That number has improved from a -6 rebound margin the first time these teams met.Â
• Post is led by duo of Ta'Quan Williams and Derrick Thomas II. Williams is scoring 15.1 points per game with 106 assists against just 57 turnovers.
• Thomas averages 13.1 points and a team-best 6.7 rebounds per game.
• The Eagles had everything working in the second half of their 99-92 win over Goldey-Beacom. Post scored 73 points in the final 20 minutes hitting 24-36 from the field and 5-9 behind the arc.Â
