NEW ORLEANS (May 13, 2026) - It was a season full of trophies and awards for Georgian Court Track and Field and they have some more to add to their collection which includes a men's and women's CACC Conference Championship.. Eight student-athletes earned 12 United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region awards for the outdoor season.
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams. Georgian Court competes in the East Region along with the other members of the CACC, the ECC and the Northeast-10.Â
Georgian Court saw four men and four women earn All-Region distinction. The most decorated of the group was
Mark Linton, making the All-Region team by placing in the East Region top-5 in the shot put, discus and hammer throw. Linton is now up to four All-Region awards in the 2025-26 season and six for his career. Linton hit the national qualifying mark in the discus and leads the region in the event with his throw of 171-11. He's also second in the hammer throw at 180-6 and fourth in the shot put at 51-5. Linton was the CACC Champion this season in the hammer throw.Â
Both
Cameren Anderson and
Malicah Etienne took home All-Region honors in the shot put and the discus. This gives them both three this season and Etienne is now up to six for his career. He's made the All-Region team for the discus all three outdoor seasons at GCU. He's second in the region this year having thrown an NCAA qualifying mark 169-7. He's also third in the shot put having thrown 52-8.25. Etienne won both events this season at the CACC Championship meet.Â
Anderson is third in the region in the shot put with his throw of 53-3.75 and fourth in the discus at 151-11. Between Linton, Anderson and Etienne, Georgian Court had three of the top-four athletes in both the shot put and discus in the region.
GCU's final All-Region award on the men's side came on the track. Freshman
Barone Vankline ran 21.30 this season which has him ranked third in the region at 200m.
On the women's side, all four student-athletes took home one All-Region award each. Freshman
Daizhae' Brown is now a two-time All-Region selection in the long jump after earning one during the indoor season as well. Brown was third in the region this season having jumped 19-2.5. She was the CACC Champion in the long and triple jumps.Â
Repeating as an All-Region selection in the discus is
Kaydence Fischer. The CACC Champion in the event, Fischer threw 141-4 this season.
Cracking the top-five in the region in the shot put is
Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir. The freshman ranks fifth in the East in the event having thrown 40-1.5.Â
Earning her first All-Region award is junior
Chiamaka Wokocha. She ranks fifth in the region in the hammer throw having thrown 164-2 this season and winning the event at the CACC Championship meet.Â
