BROOKVILLE, NY- The 2010 CACC champion Georgian Court University Lions arrived in Brookville, NY Thursday afternoon in preparation for Friday's first round match vs. #3 American International College in the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championships.

Denisha Thomas, the #6 seed Lions look to become the first squad from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference to win a NCAA Tournament match.
Lyons, from Jackson, N.J. (Jackson Memorial), is a three-time first team All-CACC selection after leading the conference with 18 goals and 38 points. Lyons netted four goals in a game for the third time in her career on October 23 against Nyack to earn Player of the Week honors on Oct. 25. Lyons is a two-time Daktronics first team All-Region pick and was a 2009 Daktronics third team All-American. Lyons is GCU’s all-time leading scorer in the Division II era with 135 points and 61 goals in 68 career games She was also the 2008 CACC Rookie of the Year.
Thomas, a native of Trinidad & Tobago, earns her second straight selection to the All-CACC first team as one of the premier defenders in the East Region. Denisha headlined a GCU backline that tallied eight shutouts and permitted just 1.22 goals per game.
Sullivan has been selected to the All-CACC second team in her first year as the Lions' starting goalkeeper. In 21 contests, the Buffalo, NY native collected seven shutouts while registering an .877 save percentage and a 0.95 goals-against-average in just under 1800:00 (1794:34).
Shealyn stopped a total of 27 shots in three postseason contests to earn her MVP honors in the CACC Championship Tournament. Shealyn collected 13 saves in GCU's 4-0 defeat of Philadelphia University in the quarterfinals last Monday and 11 more in Georgian Court's 2-1 triumph in Saturday's title game.
GCU (11-8-2) practiced this afternoon at C.W. Post University's Robert Blitz Field and will face the Yellow Jackets of the Northeast-10 Friday at 1 PM. The winner advances to play the #2 host-Pioneers on Sunday at 1 PM. C.W. Post (13-1-4), the East Coast Conference champions, earned a bye in the first round.
This just the second-ever NCAA Championship Tournament appearance for AIC (13-6-1) in program history. The first was in 1998 when the Yellow Jackets fell to Franklin Pierce University 4-0 in the first round.
