PHILADELPHIA, PA-
Justine Berger placed second overall and the Georgian Court University cross-country squad finished 4th place (out of 13) as a team in the 2010 CACC Cross-Country Championship meet, held Sunday at Philadelphia's Belmont Plateau.
Berger, who finished third in the 2009 meet, completed the 5K course 27 seconds behind winner
Sarah Simonetti (Jr.) of Philadelphia University with a time of 19:55.05. Simonetti ended with a time of 19:28.08.
The Lions, with their 110 total points, finished behind Philadelphia (37 points), Dominican College (88) and Wilmington University (89).
For finishing in the Top-15, Berger earns a spot on the All-CACC team for the second straight year. The Lions, for the second straight season, earned the CACC's Team Sportsmanship Award.
Katelynn Colgain, in her first CACC championship meet, finished 22nd overall with a time of 22:08.79. She was followed by
Cynthia Cuiule (25th, 22:16.26), #Krystal Belcher# (26th, 22:28.40),
Allison Landry (35th, 22:54.49),
Emilia Lopez (36th, 22:58.83) and
Christie Gallant (49th, 23:56.72).
The Lions next travel to Boston, MA on November 21st to participate in the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships where they finished 10th overall in last year's meet.
