PHILADELPHIA - The Georgian Court University cross-country squad, after a week off, returned to action Saturday afternoon with an eighth place finish (20 total teams) in the Philly Metro Invitational 5K at Philadelphia's Belmont Plateau.
The Lions, with 195 total points finished behind Philadelphia University (79 points), Ursinus College (81), Catholic University (110), Wilmington University (155), Dominican College (160), Nyack College (172) and University of the Sciences (177).
For the first time in her young collegiate career (11 meets), sophomore
Justine Berger was not the Lions' top finisher. That honor went to fellow sophomore,
Cynthia Cuiule, who finished 19th with a time of 22:39.23. Cuiule was followed by Berger (36th, 23:44.32), sophomore
Allison Landry (38th, 23:51.57), senior
Krystal Belcher (50th, 24:24.03), senior
Heather Miara (58th, 24:41.99) and freshman
Cassandra Lenkowski (59th, 24:42.70).
Georgian Court returns to action next Saturday in Bethlehem, PA at the Lehigh University Paul Short Run.
