LAKEWOOD, NJ- The Georgian Court University volleyball team lost its fourth straight match to start the season, falling to visiting C.W. Post University, 3-0 (15-25, 10-25, 19-25), Tuesday evening at the GCU Wellness Center.
Senior Stephanie Rivera led the Lions (0-4) with five kills. Freshman libero Nicole Sparks tied for a game-high 14 digs while freshman setter Karol Oliveros tallied 13 assists.
Three Pioneers led the C.W. Post offense with six kills apiece, including sophomore Lisa Delfs (Canandaigua, NY), senior Marliena Guadagnini (Huntington Beach, CA) and freshman Makamae Namahoe (Hilo, HI).
Senior setter Amanda Ostapow (East Setauket, NY) distributed a game-high 17 assists while Guadagnini collected 10 digs.
C.W. Post improves to 3-2 on the year.
Things do not get easier for the Lions as they travel to Waltham, MA for the Bentley Invitational this Friday and Saturday with matches vs. Stonehill College, the University of Bridgeport, the University of New Haven and host-Bentley University.
