LAKEWOOD, NJ-The Georgian Court University soccer club and ECC stalwart, Dowling College, battled to a 1-1 draw Wednesday afternoon at GCU's Investors Savings Bank Field.

The Golden Lions (2-0-1) lit the scoreboard first as sophomore forward Alexis Parrotta (Centereach, NY) one-timed a Megan Emanuelo (Jr.-Deer Park, NY) cross into the net at 24:25 for a 1-0 advantage.
 
A header from Lions' freshman Nicole Petrosino off a glorious corner kick from senior Shannon Mastrogiovanni at 69:14 tied the game and concluded the scoring for the remainder of the contest. The tally marked the first collegiate goal of Petrosino's young career.

Goalkeeper Shealyn Sullivan denied seven Dowling shots in defense of the Georgian Court net.

Netminder Alicia Commisso (Sr.-Floral Park, NY), who had earned a shutout in each of her first two outings, turned away seven attempts by the Lions (0-0-1).

The Lions outshot its feline counterpart, 14-13.

Georgian Court takes to the road for the first time this season on Saturday evening when they match up against CACC rival Felician College (0-2) at 6 PM.
