BROOKHAVEN, NY- The Georgian Court University softball squad, in its first official road games of the 2011 season, mustered only one hit in a doubleheader at #19 Dowling College, falling to the Golden Lions by scores of 5-0 and 11-0.
Dowling starting pitcher
Felicia Mendoza (Sr.-Bloomington, CA) no-hit the Lions in game one, walking four and striking out two in the complete-game, seven-inning effort.
Georgian Court did not fair much better in the nightcap, as hurler
Jessie Stavola (Jr.-Montauk, NY) sliced and diced the Lions to the tune of 14 strikeouts and a lone hit by
Jess Comiskey in five innings of work.
Dowling improves to 2-0 on the year while Georgian Court falls to 3-11.
The Lions travel to Millersville University Wednesday afternoon for a 3PM doubleheader.
