Wilmington, Del.- The Georgian Court University women's soccer squad, playing from behind for the first time in four Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) outings this season, rallied together to pelt Goldey-Beacom College with three unanswered late-minute goals to escape the Blue Hen State with a 3-1 triumph.

With the victory, the Lions improve to 4-2 (4-0 CACC) while the Lightning drop to 5-2 overall (1-1 CACC).

Goldey-Beacom struck first early in the initial half (9:58) when Cliona Crammond (So. Wicklow, Ireland) registered her first goal of the year off a cross from teammate Jane Grimley (Sr.-Franklinville, N.J.). The tally marked the first regular-season goal by a CACC opponent vs. Georgian Court since October 3, 2015 when Giana DiTonto scored for then-Felician College in a 3-1 GCU win, just under 856 game minutes (855:43) ago. The shutout streak ends at nine straight conference contests.

Amanda Astudillo proved to be nefarious in the eyes of the Lightning as the junior netted both the equalizer and the game-winner in the winning effort. The junior tied the contest at 1-1 in the 65th minute (64:18), shooting in a whacky deflection off a Kaitlin Lister corner kick. Currently the team-leader in goals with four, Astudillo broke the stalemate by tapping in a deflection off the Goldey-Beacom keeper at 81:43.

Lister joined her teammate in the scoring column when the freshman directly curved in a corner at 87:33 for her second goal on the year.

Regining CACC Rookie of the Week, Natalie Axelsson, earned her fourth win of the season (4-2) in the GCU net. The Lions outshot the Lightning, 16-7, and dominated the corners, 11-4.

GCU will next host Nyack College this Saturday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. in conference play. The Lions will celebrate Youth Soccer Appreciation Day throughout the contest.
