Lakewood, N.J. - Head Coach
Nicole Degenhardt announced today that
Gabriella Bulger of Rochelle Park, N.J. is the newest member of the Georgian Court University Softball Class of 2025.
"Gabby is going to be a great addition to our catching corps," stated Coach Degenhardt. "Her softball IQ, love for the game, and powerful bat are all reasons we have high expectations for Gabby over the next four years.
Currently a senior at Hackensack High School, Bulger has competed at the varsity level all four years with the Comets in both softball and swimming. The two-sport star also serves as the team captain for both programs.
A leader away from athletics as well, the honor-roll student is the current class president and serves as school ambassador at Hackensack High. Also looking to support her community, Gabby helped lead a COVID funding program for doctors and nurses during the height of the pandemic.
Looking to major in K-12 English education once at Georgian Court, Gabby is beyond excited to join the ranks of the royal and gold. "Immediately when I stepped on campus, Georgian Court felt like home to me," beamed Bulger. "I fell in love with the campus, the amazing program for education, and the beautiful athletic facilities. I loved the way everything felt and how Coach Degenhardt explained how her softball team runs on hardworking student athletes; I just knew this was something I wanted to be apart of."
Added Bulger, "I aspire to be even more hardworking and determined as a Lion. I can't wait to work hard and learn more from Coach Degenhardt and to become an even better person and softball player. I intend to keep up with my school year and continue to get good grades. Most importantly, I can't wait to be a teammate and a friend to many other Lions, and carry on the GCU Pride!"
