Lakewood, N.J. - Head coach Nicole Degenhardt announced today that Alyssa Rue of Clovis, Calif. will be joining the Georgian Court University softball program this fall as the newest member of the Lions.

"Alyssa is going to be a great addition to our middle infield," stated Coach Degenhardt. "She has great hands for a shortstop and will make an impact defensively right away. Her bat will add power to the lineup and her passion for the game will be fun to watch over the next four years."

A 5'3" honor student from Sierra High School, Alyssa looks to major in health sciences at GCU.

"I decided to attend Georgian Court because of the atmosphere and the coaching," shared Rue. "Moving all the way across the country for college isn't easy, so I was really happy when GCU felt like home. When I met the coaches and saw how they held a practice, that's when I immediately knew that this was the place for me."
