Staten Island, N.Y. - Georgian Court University earned its third-consecutive men's East Coast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet crown Saturday as the Lions dominated the competition en route to an 86-point victory in the event hosted by the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
GCU collected 174 points on the day, with its nearest competitor (Roberts Wesleyan College) placing second with 88 points. The Lions recorded no less than 10 individual first-place performances during its title run, one which included
Jan Volkmar's new meet record of 4.78 meters in the Pole Vault. The height, which also establishes a new program record for the freshman, eclipses the NCAA Division II national threshold.
