The Georgian Court University men's track & field team split its squad Saturday with appearances in both the Boston University Bruce Lehane Scarlett & White Invite and the Ursinus College Frank Colden Invitational (Collegeville, Pa.).
The Lions enjoyed a pair of Top-10 finishes at each site. GCU shined on the track at Ursinus with
Domenico Darcy and
Jarod Brzyski posting strong showings. Darcy secured a third-place finish in the 400m Dash with a speedy time of 53.30 seconds while Brzyski secured a 10th-place mark of 16:21.10 in the 5,000m Run.
Up in Beantown, Georgian Court's
Jeshurun Devero and
Jan Volkmar provided flair in the field events in a talent-laden showcase. Devero soared to an impressive third-place finish in the Triple Jump with a leap of 14.12 meters. Volkmar, the Lions' program record-holder in the Pole Vault, took ninth-overall on Saturday after clearing a successful height of 4.50 meters.
Georgian Court stays close to home next weekend with an appearance in the two-day (Friday-Saturday) Monmouth University Winter Collegiate Invitational.
