Shippensburg, Pa. - Georgian Court University men's track & field erased two program records and secured no less than six first-place finishes as the Lions shined at Wednesday's Shippensburg University Mid-Week Meet.
In track action,
Xavier Seals topped the competition in the 800m Run with a time of 1:54.86.
Henry Jean-Michel coasted to a first-place time of 15.06 seconds in the 110m Hurdles while joining forces with
Noah Roach,
Julian Rodriguez, and
Dylan Breen to break the team record in the 4X100m Relay with a top finish of 42.55 seconds. The previous high of 42.93 seconds was set by Joshua Clyburn,
Ian Knapp, Cameron Shaw, Charles Wolef-Fields back on Apr. 26, 2019 at the Penn Relays.
Rodriguez also enjoyed success in a solo capacity as the freshman nailed down a first-place time of 55.87 seconds in the 400m Hurdles and a third-place mark of 16.15 seconds in the 110m Hurdles. The multi-event specialist also soared to a fourth-place height of 3.75 meters in the Pole Vault.
Kyle Spector blitzed a five-year top-time in the GCU annals with his fourth-place finish of 8:58.22 in the 3,000m Run, shattering the previous-high of 9:11.32 (Hussein Elmeshad, 4/19/17). Roach raced to a second-place effort of 22.41 seconds in the 200m Dash, complementing a third-place time of 11.08 seconds in the 100m Dash.
Regarding field competition,
Jan Volkmar nailed down the top height in the Pole Vault at 4.50 meters.
Robbie Babson did the same in the Shot Put with a heave of 15.36 meters.
