KUTZTOWN, Pa. (Sept. 15, 2023) - Georgian Court put the finishing touches on a tough start to their season. The Lions raced three times in 15 days, the last of which was this evening at the Kutztown Division II/III Challenge.
The Georgian Court men got the evening started with an 8K race. The Lions finished in sixth place among nine teams.
For the third straight race, the Lions top-three remained the same.
Alec Valle led the team finishing in 15th place in 27:11.9.
Kyle Spector fell just outside the top-20 in 21st place. He broke 28 minutes though running 27:55.0.
Xavier Seals placed 31st running 28:17.5.
Ryan Pettrow and
Dylan Navarro completed the scoring for the Lions. Pettrow ran 28:48.6 for 52nd place and Navarro was 60th running 30:21.5.
Thomas Rosky and
Riley Keffer rounded out the top seven. Rosky placed 64th in 30:56.1 while Keffer ran 31:55.8 for 73rd place.
Max Salgado-Vidal was 77th in 32:30.6 and
Sean Donnamaria 94th in 37:52.7.
Shippensburg ran away with the team title scoring 17 points and taking five of the top-six places. Aiden Gonder of Shippensburg was the individual winner running 26:22.3.
The women ran a 6K race for the first time this season.
Amirah Beasley paced the Lions running 27:31.9 for a 47th place finish.
Remi Reinhardt was behind her in 59th place with a time of 28:50.8.
Brenna Sullivan placed 65th in 29:28.9.
Niya Barden and
Madalin Jones finished three spots apart in 74th and 77th place. Barden ran 30:28.0 and Jones 30:56.4.
Selma Cazimoska rounded out the field for GCU running 34:37.3 for 88th place.Â
Bloomsburg was the winner on the women's side. They totaled 44 points and edged out Shippensburg by four points. Bloomsburg's Kelley Selheimer was the individual champ, completing the course in 23:57.7.Â
After racing three times in 15 days, Georgian Court will take a well-deserved break. They're off for three weeks and return to race Saturday, Oct. 7 at the NJIT Highlander Challenge.
