LANGHORNE, Pa. (Oct. 5, 2024) - Georgian Court Cross Country was back in action Saturday morning after taking a week off. Both teams had a strong showing as the women ran a 6K and the men an 8K.
The men finished in second place out of 11 teams. GCU had three in a row in the top-10 led by
Nolan Kus's fourth-place finish in 27:54.5. Right behind him was
Ryan Pettrow in fifth running 28:28.8 and Joseph Jamolawicz was sixth running 28:54.3.
Zachary Spoonire was also in the top-20, taking 19th place running 31:20.8.Â
The Lions had another group of three-in-a-row to round out their field.
Luke McCormick was the fifth Lion to cross the line in 26th place and a time of 32:03.4.
Colin Broadbelt took 27th running 32:16.2 and
Matthew Schaub was 28th in 32:33.3. All three ran personal-best times for the 8K.
Felician just squeaked out the Lions for first place scoring 52 points to the Lions 54. The individual winner was Jacob Dinerman of Rutgers-Camden who ran 27:27.8.
The women had a fifth place finish among nine times.
Amirah Beasley led Georgian Court over the 6K course running 27:09.6.
Madalin Jones nudged her way into the top-20 with a time of 29:42.1 for 20th place.Â
Samantha Lonseth was third for Georgian Court running 32:57.1
Kerry Ann Hohenshilt and
Julisa Ponce Sanchez each ran their first race for the Lions. Hohenshilt was 35th in 33:19.2 and Ponce Sanchez 62nd in 47:24.6.Â
Felician was also the team champs on the women's side totaling 22 points to run away with the meet. The host school's Clarisse Hayden of Cairn was the individual champ running 24:38.0.
The Lions will stay busy next weekend when they run at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial in Philadelphia, hosted by Jefferson. The meet will be held at Belmont Plateau, site of the 2024 CACC Cross Country Championship meet.Â
