LAKEWOOD, NJ (Nov. 11, 2024) - Georgian Court Women's Lacrosse recently took some time to visit the Oak Street Elementary School in Lakewood. The trip is part of a larger "Lakewood United" initiative for Georgian Court to connect with the Lakewood, NJ community.
While at the school, the team met the students, offered instruction on lacrosse and played games. They learned the fundamentals of throwing, catching, and scooping up ground balls.Â
Speaking about the day, GCU senior
Isabel Raimondi said, "It was a rewarding experience and feeling to see all the smiles on the kid's faces and to see how much fun they were having playing a sport that we all love to play".
It was a special day for all parties involved. The elementary school students enjoyed having the lacrosse team on hand and the team had a great time interacting and teaching the students.
Georgian Court's "Lakewood United" initiative is about getting student-athletes involved in the local community. If you're a local school or group with an interest in being a part of "Lakewood United", contact Georgian Court Director of Athletics, Dan Sempkowski at dsempkowski@georgian.edu for more information.Â
