NEW HAVEN, Conn. (February 24, 2026) –
Kristina Ortiz, Assistant Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator at Georgian Court University, has been named the vice chair of the NCAA Division II Management Council. The Division II Executive Board ratified the appointment last fall, and she began her role following the 2026 NCAA Convention in mid-January.
The Division II Management Council is charged with recommending administrative policies and regulations that govern the division. It reviews and acts upon recommendations from the Division II committee structure and from D-II representatives to Association-wide committees. The council is authorized to sponsor legislative proposals for a vote at the annual NCAA Convention.
Ortiz has represented GCU and the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference on the D-II Management Council since 2024. She was also a representative on the council while serving on the national Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as an undergraduate at Lynn University.
Ortiz is a 2019 graduate of Lynn, where she competed as a women's golf student-athlete before earning a bachelor's degree in international business management. She completed an MBA at Georgian Court in 2021. At GCU, in additional to her SWA role, Ortiz oversees NCAA compliance and student-athlete welfare.
