EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. (Feb. 4, 2024) Georgian Court took less than a dozen to the DeSchriver Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg University Sunday afternoon. Most competed in the 1,000m race to get a seed time for the conference meet later this month.
Kyle Spector won the event, finishing in 2:36.08 in his first time covering the distance. That time put him third all-time in Lions history. Spector was one of four Lions in the top-10.
Ryan Pettrow finished fourth running 2:42.68 which is good for 10 all-time at GCU.
Max Salgado-Vidal was less than a second behind Pettrow in sixth place. He ran 2:43.27 and
Thomas Rosky was eighth in 2:54.64.
Also running the 1,000m were
Amirah Beasley and
Madalin Jones. Beasley finished in 3:16.91 which was second in the race and sixth in Lions history. Jones ran a personal-best 3:35.29 which put her in fifth place.
Also on the track, Joseph Jamolawicz set a new personal-best in the 3,000m. He ran 9:51.09 which was seventh in the race and less than two seconds outside the Lions all-time top-10.
Robbie Babson competed in the shot put. He took fourth place throwing 51-3.75.
Georgian Court has one final meet before the conference meet. That's this Friday, Feb. 9 at the Fastrack National Invitational at Ocean Breeze on Staten Island.
