EWING, NJ (April 27, 2024) - Georgian Court Track and Field hosts the CACC Championships next weekend. But this weekend they had a pair of meets competing Friday at the Penn Relays and Friday and Saturday at the TCNJ Invitational.
Penn Relays
Friday at the Penn Relays,
Malicah Etienne took part in two throwing events. In the discus he was 16th throwing 156-5. He had a consistent day in all three attempts with his third being his top mark. In the shot put, he finished 20th throwing 46-8.25.Â
Robbie Babson also threw the shot put at Penn. He finished in 12th place with a mark of 51-1.Â
At TCNJ,
Chiamaka Wokocha and
Sabrina Halk threw the hammer throw. Wokocha placed 13th throwing 137-8. Halk set another PR with her throw of 110-9.
TCNJ Invitational
Friday
Friday at the TCNJ Invitational saw the Lions compete in the hammer throw and javelin.
Ava Reardon took third place in the women's javelin throwing 120-2.
Joseph Sauchelli was 11th with his mark of 161-7.
In the hammer throw,
Chiamaka Wokocha finished 13th in 137-8.
Sabrina Halk set another personal-best in the event throwing 110-9.
Saturday
Sprints
• Competing for the women in the 100m,
Leela McConnell took 26th place running 13.91.
Samantha Lonseth ran 14.89 for 38th place.
•
Ivan Ramos-Lopez led the men running 11.80 for 35th place. Brian Barnes was 44th in 12.06 and
Joshua Tipaldo was 63rd in 12.84.
• In the men's 400m,
Sean Donnamaria was 22nd running 52.44.
James McCoy and Alexander Dejean followed with McCoy running 54.30 for 40th place and Dejean 56.60 for 48th.

Niya Barden ran her best 400m. She finished 11th in 1:02.28.
•
Molly Burns was 21st in 1:05.42 and
Selma Cazimoska was 28th in 1:12.95.
• Lonseth came back to run the 200m in 31.34 for 45th place.
• Barnes also ran the 200m. He was 47th in 24.67.
Nicholas Jordan wasn't far behind taking 56th place in the event running 25.03.Â
Distance
• There were a bunch of personal-bests in the 1500m. Starting with the men,
Kyle Spector was fifth. He nearly broke four minutes running 4:00.02 which moved him from fourth to second all-time at Georgain Court.

Ryan Pettrow also had a PR in the race. He was ninth running 4:01.87 which is fifth in Lions history.

Thomas Rosky finished in 4:36.39 for 51st place.Â
•
Amirah Beasley just missed a new PR in the event. She ran 4:59.64 for 13th place. Her second time this season running below five minutes.
• Maddie Jones did set a personal-best. She ran 5:34.08 for 35th place.Â
Jumps
•
Malama Toure had six attempts in the long jump and got only one legal mark. But she made sure that one counted as she jumped a new personal-best 17-7. That came on her third attempt of the day and moves her into fifth all-time at Georgian Court.
Throws
• After throwing at the Penn Relays yesterday,
Malicah Etienne was right back at it Saturday afternoon. He finished second in the discus throwing 162-4. That came on his final attempt of the day.
•
Robbie Babson also had a top-10 finish in the shot put Saturday. He was fourth overall throwing 49-7.75.
Thomas Menegus took 20th in the event at 40-1.25.
• After competing in the hammer throw Friday, Wokocha and Halk came back to throw the discus Saturday. Wokocha set a new personal-best throwing 121-6 which was good for a sixth place finish. Half finished 19th at 103-3.
Next week is the CACC Championships hosted by Georgian Court Saturday-Sunday May 4-5.Â
