WEST POINT, NY (May 9, 2024) - Georgian Court had one final meet for the 2024 season Thursday afternoon and evening. The Lions sent six throwers to compete in nine events at the West Point Twilight. GCU had seven top-10 finishes among the nine events and two new personal-bests set.
Women
• The biggest mover was
Ava Reardon who took sixth place in the javelin. She set a new personal-best throwing the spear 130-4. That came on her fourth attempt and moves her to seventh place all-time in Lions history.
• Finishing one spot behind Reardon was
Sheridan Martinez. She threw 127-3 for seventh place in the competition.Â
• Another personal-best was set by
Chiamaka Wokocha. She took eighth place in the discus throwing 122-0 which is the furthest of her freshman season.
• Wokocha also took ninth place in the hammer throwing 138-8 on her final attempt.
• Wokocha was joined by
Sabrina Halk in the hammer throw. Halk finished in 11th place with her throw of 97-1. She fouled on her first two attempts and her third was the only legal mark.Â
Men
• On the mens side,
Robbie Babson and
Malicah Etienne each competed in two events. Etienne had two top-10 finishes. He took seventh in the discus throwing 163-11. He then threw the shot put 49-3.75 for ninth place.
• Babson had a seventh place finish in the shot put. He threw 52-11. On Babson's first throw in the hammer throw, he had a mark of 159-7 which was his only legal mark in the competition and good for 12th place overall.
