NEWARK, Del. (Sept. 20, 2024) - Georgian Court Cross Country got up bright and early and put their spikes on to race at the annual Delaware Invitational.
The women's race got underway at 9 a.m. The Lions had four finish among the field of 76. It was their first 5K race this season.
Amirah Beasley led the way once again running 22:43 which put her in 42nd place.
Madalin Jones finished in 60th place running 24:36.
Brenna Sullivan was just four spots behind in 64th place with her time of 26:05.
Samantha Lonseth completed the squad for the Lions. She ran 28:25 and placed 69th.
The Lion men ran an 8K and saw two place in the top-10 out of the field of 47.
Nolan Kus was fifth overall running 28:46.
Ryan Pettrow also cracked the top-10 running 29:32 for eighth place.
Joe Jamolawicz just missed out placing 11th in 30:14.
Luke McCormick ran in his first career race and placed 22nd in 32:43.
Matthew Schaub wasn't far being in 33:09 for 25th place and
Colin Broadbelt ran 34:16 for 30th place.
After racing three times in 14 days, the Lions get a bit of a break. They'll be back again in two weeks at the Highlander Invitational hosted by Cairn Saturday, Oct. 5.
