STATEN ISLAND, NY (Jan. 17, 2025) - Georgian Court Track and Field competed for the first time in a month Friday afternoon at Ocean Breeze.
Sprints
•
Jewel Pierrecharles had a top-10 finish in the unseeded portion of the 60m dash. She ran 8.26 to finish sixth in that group.
Leela McConnell was also in the unseeded portion running a personal-best 8.65 to finish 21st.
•
Tishanna Cohen ran her first 60m race with Georgian Court and was 32nd in the invitational portion running 8.85.
• Pierrecharles also led GCU through 200m. She ran a season-best 27.03, just outside the all-time top-10, for 39th place.
Molly Burns ran 28.77 for 64th place and
Addison Rivera was just three places behind Burns in 67th running 29.32.
• Three men finished 10 spots apart in the 60m dash.
Nick Jordan led the Lions running 7.73 for 43rd place. Wayne Robinson was 47th in 7.79 and
Joshua Tipaldo 53rd finishing in 8.23.
• GCU also had a strong contingent at 400m.
Marcos Murillo-Benavides ran a GCU-best 53.56 for 45th place.
Brandon Rudder wasn't far behind running 54.21 for 49th place and
James McCoy was 51st in 54.29.
• Jordan and Rudder ran later in the meet in the 200m. Rudder finished 51st in 23.47 while Jordan was 74th in 25.19.
• Running 500m for the first time,
Karmjeet Nagara was 22nd in 1:10.19.
Abdullah Brown placed 31st running 1:23.79.
Distance
•
Amirah Beasley set a personal-best in the 1,000m. She ran 3:13.63 for a 24th place finish. Her time is a new personal-best by more than three seconds.
• Not only did Beasley set a PR in the 1,000m, so too did
Ryan Pettrow. He moved to 10th all-time at Georgian Court running 2:35.34 which put him in 13th place.
•
Jurnee Tuttle,
Brenna Sullivan and
Samantha Lonseth all ran the 800m and finished in that order. Tuttle was 30th in 2:54.68, Sullivan 31st in 2:59.26 and Lonseth 32nd in 3:04.52.
• The Lion men had a pair of milers who finished back-to-back.
Matthew Schaub set a Georgian Court best running 5:00.75, good for 48th place.
Luke McCormick ran his first collegiate mile in 5:08.26 to place 49th.

Nolan Kus finished the day for the GCU distance crew. he ran the 5,000m in 16:09.27 which puts him sixth all-time in Georgian Court history and put him 14th in the race.Â
• Georgian Court put together a distance medley relay team. The four-some of Joe Jamolawocz,
Colin Broadbelt,
Zachary Spoonire and
Nolan Kus ran 11:05.34 for fifth place.Â
Jumps
• Georgian Court had one triple jumper on both the men's and women's side.
Tishanna Cohen tied for 10th place with her mark of 35-1.25.
•
Matthew Sutton matched a lifetime best jumping 42-8 for 14th place. That moves Sutton into a tie for sixth all-time at GCU indoors.Â
• In the high jump,
Juliana Dogostino tied for 15th place clearing 4-9 in her first collegiate meet.
• Three Lion pole vaulters finished in the top-10.
Julian Rodriguez led the group clearing 13-0.75 for a fifth place finish.

Sean Donnamaria and
Ivan Ramos-Lopez each jumped 12-6.75 to set new personal-bests and move into a tie with each other for fifth all-time at GCU. Ramos-Lopez's clearance came on his final attempt at the bar. He took eighth in the competition while Donnamaria was sixth based on number of attempts.
Throws
• Kaydence Ficsher and
Adrianna Fodera threw both the shot and the weight. Fischer threw a season-best 36-10.25 for 12th place. It was her only legal mark of the competition. Fodera threw 33-2.5 for 21st place.
• Fischer also led GCU in the weight throw. She had another season-best with her mark of 39-9, good for 18th place. Fodera also had a season-best mark in the event finishing 30th in 34-9.

Chiamaka Wokocha finished in 24th place throwing 37-10 in the weight throw.Â
•
Robbie Babson had a pair of top-10 finishes on the. He was second in the shot put, and the first non-Division I finisher, with his throw of 54-0.75 which came on his fifth attempt. He only needed two throws to hit 50-10 in the weight throw, just two inches short of a personal-best, which placed him fourth in the meet.
• On his first throw in the shot put,
Mark Linton had a toss of 42-10.5 which was his best of the day and put him 10th. He also had a ninth-place finish in the weight throw. His mark of 49-5 immediately puts him sixth all-time in Lion history.

Malicah Etienne had a fifth-place finish in the shot with his throw of 48-4.
Guius Dabney was 24th at 36-0.25.

Anthony Lorenzo hit a personal-best in the weight throw with a toss of 44-9, good for 17th place.Â
The Track and Field season is now in full swing. They'll compete each of the next five weekends during the indoor season, starting next Friday at the Winter Evening Invite at UPenn in Philadelphia.Â
