STATEN ISLAND, NY (Feb. 8, 2025) - Georgian Court Track and Field took part in their final meet before the 2025 ECC Indoor Conference Championships. The Lions put together another strong showing in their final tune-up.
Sprints
• Jewell Pierrecharles running in the open portion of the 60m dash had a top-10 finish. She was sixth running 8.22.
Leela McConnell was 28th in 8.70.
• McConnell also ran in the 200m. She finished 67th in 28.78.
Molly Burns wasn't far behind in 69th running 28.82.
• On the men's side,
Ivan Ramos-Lopez led the short-sprinters. He finished in 29th running 7.32.
•
Nick Jordan ran 7.80 for 80th place and
Joshua Tipaldo 8.33 for 85th.
• Stepping up to 200m, Wayne Robinson was 25th in 22.56.
Brandon Rudder set a new personal-best running 23.26 for 52nd.
• Those two also led GCU at 400m. Robinson ran a season-best 50.72 for 32nd overall. Rudder was 53rd in 51.68.
• Two Lions ran personal-bests in the 400m. Marcos Murillo-Benevides was 86th running 53.20 and
James McCoy was 89th in 53.41.
• Also competing at 400m for the Lions was
Karmjeet Nagara. He placed 80th in 52.91.
Sean Donnamaria was 107th in 55.27.
Distance
• Last week's ECC Track Athlete of the Week turned in an even stronger performance in the mile. He set a new PR and moved to sixth all-time at GCU running 4:24.37 to place 41st.

Colin Broadbelt was 75th running 4:48.20 for his first collegiate mile race.
•
Zachary Spoonire competed in the 800m. He ran 2:03.86 for 60th place.
•
Joe Jamolawicz was the only Lion to run more than a mile. He competed in the 3,000m finishing in 59th place in 9:42.46.

Amirah Beasley was the only female distance runner on the women's side. She ran the 800m and took 33rd place running 2:23.94.
Throws
• All three Lion men in the shot put finished in the top-10.
•
Robbie Babson led the way in second with his throw of 53-10.75 which came on his final attempt.
Mark Linton's final throw was also his best. He finished seventh throwing 46-9.75.

Malicah Etienne claimed fifth place. His first throw was his best with a mark of 48-9.75.
• Linton hit a big one in the weight throw. His mark of 53-2 is a new personal-best by more than three feet. It was good for fifth place overall and puts him third all-time at Georgian Court.
•
Guius Dabney also hit a PR in the weight throwing 39-1 for 24th place.
Anthony Lorenzo took 22nd throwing 39-11.
• In the women's shot, Kaydence Fisher fouled her first two throws before getting off a 36-4.25 mark for 11th place.
•
Adrianna Fodera was 22nd in the shot throwing 33-11.5.
• Fodera had a big PR in the weight throw. She took 29th overall in 39-3.
•
Chiamaka Wokocha was near a lifetime best throwing 44-3 for 21st place.
Jumps
• Pierrecharles also competed in the triple jump. After fouling her first two attempts she got off a legal mark of 34-7 to finish in 16th place.
• The only vertical jumper for GCU to clear a bar was
Juliana Dogostino. She got over the bar at 4-9 to finish in 25th place.
• In the men's triple jump,
Matthew Sutton took 15th place with his jump of 41-8.5.
Georgian Court is right back in Staten Island next weekend. They'll be competing in the 2025 ECC Indoor Track and Field Conference Championship meet. The single-day meet is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 16.
