Track and Field Battles the Elements at Rowan Invitational

GLASSBORO, NJ (April 12, 2025) - It wasn't a great day for track and field, but the meet must go on. Georgian Court found themselves competing in cold and wet conditions all day at the Rowan Oscar Moore Inviational. 

Sprints/Hurdles
• There wasn't much happening in the sprints. Jewel Pierrecharles led GCU in the 100m running 13.14 for 12th place and Leela McConnell was 21st in 13.72.
Molly Burns had a top-10 finish in the 400m running 1:04.09.
• On the men's side, Nick Jordan was the only Lion to run in multiple sprint races. He finished 41st in the 100m running 11.97 and 40th in the 200m at 24.65.
Karmjeet Nagara ran 23.98 for 200m finishing 32nd. Joshua Tipaldo was 57th in the 100m running 12.52.
Abdullah Brown was the only Lion 400m runner. He ran 1:03.80 for 47th place.
Julian Rodriguez ran the 400m hurdles for the first time this season, finishing seventh in 58.22.

Distance
• The distance crew dropped down in distance this week. Most ran the 800m, but there were a few in the 1500m as well. Brenna Sullivan had a big PR in the 1500m running 6:03.17 for 52nd place. Nolan Kus finished in 4:25.33, good for 23rd in his first 1500m race at Georgian Court.
• The 800m runners saw Ryan Pettrow finish 21st in 2:01.10. Zachary Spoonire wasn't far behind in 2:04.92 for 32nd place.
Joe Jamolawicz and Matthew Schaub went back-to-back in 52nd and 53rd place. Jamolawicz ran 2:12.80 and Schaub hit a personal-best 2:14.40.
Luke McCormick was 62nd in 2:31.36.
Amirah Beasley led the women through 800m. She was 18th in 2:23.03.
Jurnee Tuttle had a personal-best 2:27.49 for 37th place. 
• Sullivan came back to run the 800m as well finishing 55th in 3:04.53. Kerry Ann Hohenshilt and Samantha Lonseth were 57th and 58th in 3:06.93 and 3:07.69.

Throws
• No thrower competed in more than two events. On the women's side, Kaydance Fischer was the winner of the discus throwing 125-8. She was also 10th in the shot put at 34-6.75.
Chiamaka Wokocha was fifth in the discus throwing 112-11 and Sabrina Halk ninth at 100-00. Those two also threw the hammer with Wokocha taking second throwing 143-2 and Halk 12th at 114-7. 
Ava Reardon was the only Lions javelin thrower. She finished second at 118-10.
• Adriana Fodera took 13th place in the shot put throwing 31-10. She had a personal-best in the hammer throw at 126-6, good for fifth place. 
Robbie Babson had another event win the shot put. He threw 52-5.25. He was also seventh in the hammer throw at 150-8.
Malicah Etienne had two top-three finishes. He was second in the shot put at 49-6.5 and third in the discus at 144-3.
Mark Linton took second place in the discus with his toss of 150.4.
Thomas Menegus threw a personal-best in the shot put with his mark of 42-1.25, good for ninth place. He was also 17th with a 101-10 discus throw.
Guius Dabney took 11th place in the shot put throwing 40-2.25. His throw of 102-10 in the hammer put him 19th overall.
Anthony Lorenzo finished 14th in the hammer throw at 115-9 and 19th in the shot put at 37-6.5. 

Jumps
• Jumping events were difficult in the rainy conditions. The only jumper who got a legal mark was Julianna Dogostino in the high jump. She cleared 4-9.75 for second place overall. 

It'll be a quick turnaround for Georgian Court who competes again next Wednesday, April 16 at the Shippensburg PR Bonanza.
