WEST POINT, NY (May 9, 2025) - Georgian Court Track and Field competed in their final meet of the 2025 outdoor season. The Lions sent eight to compete at the West Point Twilight, hosted by Army.
Unfortunately, the weather did not fully cooperate. Long lightning delays meant the meet finished late into the night and altered many team's plans, GCU included.
On the track, Georgian Court had three running.
Amirah Beasley was the only runner on the women's side. She ran at 800m and finished eighth in 2:20.80.
Zachary Spoonire had the only personal-best on the day. He too ran at 800m and finished in 1:58.33, which moves him to seventh all-time at Georgian Court.
Ryan Pettrow competed in the 1500m and was 15th running 4:05.75.
The throwing events were hit the hardest by weather. Some events were forced to halt in the middle of competition, including the women's javelin.
Ava Reardon finished fifth in that event throwing 128-2 on her first throw of the day.
Other events saw long delays, like the discus.
Chiamaka Wokocha was entered in the hammer throw and discus, but with the late start time of the discus, did not start that event and just threw the hammer. She took ninth in that event throwing 140-2.

Mark Linton had their events altered as well. There were no finals for either event and each competitor received four attempts.
Mark Linton won discus throwing 172-3. He was already in first place, but launched his best throw of the day on his final attempt. Linton finished the year winning the discus at his last three meets.
Robbie Babson's best throw in the shot put also came on his final attempt. He threw 52-6.5 which saw him finish second overall.
Malicah Etienne threw the shot and the disc and took fourth in both events. He threw 50-11 in the shot put and 156-10 on his only mark of the competition, to give himself two top-five finishes.
