NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Jan. 26, 2026) - Georgian Court Men's Basketball junior
Amar Lane had a special night last Tuesday, especially on the defensive end of the floor. For his efforts, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) awarded Lane the co-Defensive Player of the Week.
In the Lions lone game last week against Wilmington, Lane matched a GCU single-game record with seven blocked shots. He has already claimed the Lions single-season record for blocks in a season and Tuesday's game set a new Lions team record for blocked shots in a season. Also on the defensive end, Lane came down with three rebounds and one steal.Â
Lane put together a terrific all-around game going 5-7 from the floor and scoring 13 points as well.
This season, Lane is leading the CACC in blocks and blocks per game and is just outside the top-10 nationally in both categories.Â
This is Lane's first CACC Defensive Player of the Week award this season.Â
