NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Jan. 27, 2026) - The 2026 Georgian Court Baseball season is fast approaching. In a few short weeks, the Lions will take to the diamond for their second season in program history.
Before the year gets started, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) came out with their 2026 preseason coaches poll. Georgian Court was picked to finish 11th among the 12-team league. New this year, the CACC has done away with a North and South Division. All 12 teams will be ranked 1-12 with the top-8 making the CACC Tournament.
Their inaugural season of 2025 will be remembered not only for its historic accomplishments as the first season in program history, but the Lions finished the year with more conference wins than overall wins. GCU was 9-27 in CACC but finished with an overall record of 8-38. How can this be? The Lions final two games of the season were forfeit wins over Bloomfield. Those wins do not count towards your overall record, but count in conference for possible tie-breaking scenarios.Â
Georgian Court is opening 2026 against the same team and at the same ballpark as their first win in program history. The season starts Monday, February 16 at the College of Staten Island at SIUH Community Park. The Lions will then get out of the tri-state area and head south for three games in Florida, four in North Carolina and four in Maryland. Their first home and conference game is set for Wednesday, March 11 against Bridgeport.
In addition to the CACC changing up the league standings, they're also changing how they play in-conference series's. No more four-game weekend series. Instead on weekends there will be a doubleheader Saturday followed by single game on Sunday. CACC games during the week will be one doubleheader and a single game the following week.Â
Georgian Court is bringing back plenty from their inaugural 2025 season. That includes Opening Day starter and innings pitched leader
Ryan Bilello. Three of their top-four and four of their top-six in innings pitched return for 2026. In addition to Bilello,
Brady Parks,
Benjie Pabon, and
Jaydon Cabezudo will toe the rubber this season.Â
In the lineup,
Frank Marra,
Oliver Santana,
Tomas Tamargo,
Larry Rodriguez,
Jack Greenspan and
Joshua Moreno who all started at least 25 games and took at least 88 at bats, are back in the fold.Â
The coaches poll sees East Super Regional Champs Felician on top with nine-of-12 first-place votes and 118 points. They sit ahead of defending CACC Tournament champs Wilmington who received two first-place votes, Jefferson and Goldey-Beacom. Dominican, fifth the poll, received the final first-place vote.Â
