READING, PA (Jan. 31, 2026) - Georgian Court Track and Field finished off the month of January at the Alvernia PLEX Shootout. The Lions, as they have all season long, had a handful of strong results, headlined by
Mark Linton hitting the NCAA qualifying mark in the weight throw.
Throws
• For the third time this season, Linton bettered his own school record in the weight throw. This one was a big one though. He won the event throwing 60-5.75, his first time throwing 60 feet and hit an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the process.
• Linton's day wasn't finished though as he competed in the shot put and took fourth and threw 46-8 on his first attempt.
• The Lions had two others finish in the top-10 in the shot put.
Malicah Etienne was the first collegiate finisher and was second overall throwing 50-4.75.
Guius Dabney was sixth with a personal-best throw 46-2.75.
• Dabney had another top-10 finish in the weight as he placed eight throwing 46-3.5.Â

Anthony Lorenzo and
Amir Spruell-Everson each competed in both throwing events. Lorenzo took 14th in the shot throwing 41-4.5 and 25th in the weight at 37-1.75. Spruell-Everson was 22nd in the shot throwing 39-11.25 and 17th in the weight at 41.7.25.

Adrianna Fodera had a big personal-best for the women in the weight throw. She threw 48-4.50 which was good for fourth in the competition and puts her fifth all-time in Lions history in the event. She was also 11th in the shot put throwing 35-9.9.25.Â
• Behind Fodera in the weight throw was
Chiamaka Wokocha. She was also in top-10 placing sixth throwing 48-1.75.

Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir set another PR in the shot put. She threw 38-2.75 which placed her fifth.Â

Kaydence Fischer was just inside the top-10 placing ninth throwing 36-2.
Stephanie Rodas threw the shot for the first time at GCU. She placed 23rd at 29-1.Â
Jumps
• For the second straight week
Daizhae' Brown won both the long and triple jumps. She set another PR in the long jump with her mark of 18-2.5 on her final attempt. In the triple she jumped 36-3.5.Â

Sydney Hurley finished ninth in the pole vault clearing 9-0.75 and
Juliana Dogostino was ninth in the high jump getting over 4-7.Â
•
Matthew Sutton was the only Lion on the men's side to get a legal mark in the jumps. He finished sixth in the triple with a mark of 40-10.5.Â
Distance
•
Nolan Kus eagerly competed in the 3,000m and 5,000m and finished in eighth place in both events. He started his day running a personal-best in the 5K of 16:08.25. He came back and ran 9:32.14 for the 3K.Â
•
Luke McCormick set a PR in the 3K running 10:15.36 for 26th place.
Matthew Schaub was just in front of him placing 24th in 10:05.86.
•
Ryan Pettrow placed fifth overall in the 800. He ran 1:59.77.
Stephen Lane was 23rd running 2:07.15.Â
• The women's distance runners saw
Kerry Ann Hohenshilt and
Brenna Sullivan run the mile. Hohenshilt was 32rd and ran a personal-best 6:50.21. Sullivan was one spot behind her running 7:02.54 for 33rd place.
Short Sprints/Hurdles
• Brown's day wasn't over with the horizontal jumps though. She was 3-3 winning the 60m dash as well after running 7.81 in the finals.

Shalom Adzakro made the finals in the 60m hurdles. She ran 9.77 in the prelims and improved to a season-best 9.55 in the finals to place third.
•
Stephanie Rodas ran the 60m hurdles as well. She was 19th in 11.27. She also ran her first 200m and was 37th at 32.17.
• For the men,
Brian Kutney was an event winner in the 60m hurdles. After finishing second in the prelims running 8.66, he improved to 8.55 in the finals to win the event.
• The 60m dash saw
Barone Vankline make the finals for the Lion men. He advanced running 7.16 in the prelims then set a new PR, 7.05 in the finals to place third.Â
• GCU had four others in the men's 60m dash.
Ivan Ramos-Lopez was 15th in 7.27.
Nick Jordan ran 7.58 for 37th. In his first collegiate 60m dash,
Gary Boyd, Jr. ran 7.65 for 41st place and
Joshua Tipaldo was 59th in 8.28.
Long Sprints/Relays
• Most of the Lion men did a 200m/400m double. They were led though at 400m by
Zachary Spoonire who ran 53.14 for 4th place overall.Â
• Also in the top-10 for 400m were
Sean Donnamaria and
Marcos Murillo-Benavides. Donnamaria took ninth running 54.36 and Murillo-Benavides 10th in 54.45. Those two were also back-to-back at 200m. Murillo-Benavides was 36th in 24.38 and Donnamaria 37th in 24.40.Â
• Once again it was Vankline leading the Lions at 200m. He ran 23.12 to finish in fourth place.
•
James McCoy ran both events as well. He was 52nd at 200m running 25.29 and 19th at 400m in 55.79.
•
Abdul Brown was 29th at 400m running 1:02.12.Â
•
Nick Jordan and Josh Tipaldo finished their day running 200m. Jordan was 43rd in 24.87 and Tipaldo 76th in 27.45.
• For the women,
Sophia Mauro ran her first collegiate 400m race. She was 8th overall running 1:04.82.
•
Molly Burns finished 12th in the 400m running 1:06.80 and 17th at 200m running 28.86.
•
Nora Sprunger was 16th in her first 400m as well in 1:08.98.
• GCU put together a men's 4x400m relay team of Spoonire, Pettrow, Lane and Boyd. They finished 3rd overall running 3:36.15.
Georgian Court has one more meet left before the ECC Conference Championship meet. They'll be back at OceanBreeze for the Fastrack National Invitational Friday, Feb. 6.Â
