STATEN ISLAND, NY (Feb. 6, 2026) - Georgian Court Track and Field were back on the track Friday night at OceanBreeze. It was the Lions final meet before the ECC Championships next weekend, with the Lions walking that tight rope between going all out and making sure to stay healthy for next week.
There were still a lot of personal-bests set Friday afternoon across the track and in the field events.
Sprints/Hurdles
• Starting in the sprints,
Barone Vankline led GCU through the 60m and 200m dashes. He matched a PR in the 60m dash running 7.05 to finish 20th in the invitational section. In the open 200m, Vankline did set a personal-best, running 22.36 which moves him to third all-time at Georgian Court.
• It was a great day for long-tenured Lion
Nick Jordan. He set two big personal-bests, first in the 60m dash running 7.44 and then at 200m running an indoor personal-best 23.85.Â
• While he didn't run a personal-best,
Brian Kutney finished just outside the top-10 in the 60m hurdles. He placed 11th running 8.58.Â
• Finishing up the 60m,
Ivan Ramos-Lopez was 24th in the college-section running 7.28.
Gary Boyd, Jr. ran a personal-best 7.54 and
Joshua Tipaldo crossed the line in 8.20.Â

Sean Donnamaria was the only Lion to run both the 200m and 400m Friday. He had a personal-best 23.85 in the 200m and finished in 52.20 for 400m.Â

Abdul Brown competed in the 400m running 1:00.33 which is a new PR.Â
• Like Vankline,
Shalom Adzakro was in the invitational-section of the 60m hurdles. She was 21st running 9.90.
•
Stephanie Rodas was in the 60m hurdles college-section and improved upon her time from last week, running 11.04 for 27th place.Â
•
Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir ran in both the 60m and 200m dashes. She was 12th in the 60m running 8.21 and was 31st in the 200m with a PR time of 26.67.Â
Jumps
• All three GCU women long jumpers were in the invite-section.
Daizhae' Brown led the group jumping 17-9.5 to finish in second place.
Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir was also in the top-10 jumping 17-2 which is a personal-best.

Tishanna Cohen was 15th getting off a jump of 15-11. She also had a top-10 finish in the triple jump with her mark of 35-6.Â
• Julianna Dogostino was in the college-section of the high jump. She cleared 4-7 and placed sixth.Â
•
Sydney Hurley came close to matching her PR in the pole vault. She was over the bar at 9-0 to finish 26th in the field.Â
• The men saw
Chuck Smith finish third in the long jump, college-section, jumping 21-0.75, very near a GCU-best.
•
Ivan Ramos-Lopez took 12th place in the pole vault clearing 12-11.5.Â
•
Matthew Sutton jumped 41-0 in the triple jump for a 23rd-place finish.Â
Distance
• The Lions distance crew mostly were held to an 800m or mile.
Sophia Mauro ran 2:24.79 for the women's 800m to lead the Lions.
•
Nora Sprunger ran 2:40.43 which was just short of a personal-bestt and
Samantha Lonseth ran 2:59.27.
•
Kerry Ann Hohenshilt had a big PR in the mile. She ran 6:31.27, nearly nine full seconds better than her previous PR.
•
Brenna Sullivan finished one spot ahead of Hohenshilt running 6:34.59.Â
•
Zachary Spoonire ran his fastest indoor 800m race at GCU. He was 49th in 2:01.83.
Stephen Lane also had a personal-best time of 2:03.74.Â
• In the college-section 3K,
Nolan Kus ran 9:22.73 for 27th place.
•
Ryan Pettrow led the milers. He was 21st in 4:23.93.
•
Matthew Schaub had a PR 4:58.98, breaking five minutes in the mile for the first time at GCU.
•
Luke McCormick ran 5:14.60.Â
Throws
• Another meet and another win in the weight throw for
Mark Linton. He threw 59-3 to win the event.
•
Cameren Anderson was also in the top-10 throwing 48-0 for ninth place.
Amir Spruell-Everson threw 41-9 for 18th place in the event.Â
• One Lion who had a personal-best in the weight throw was
Chiamaka Wokocha. She hit 50 feet for the first time, throwing exactly 50-0 and took sixth place.Â
•
Adrianna Fodera was eighth in the weight throwing 48-1. She also had a personal-best in the shot put throwing 36-7 for 13th place.Â
•
Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir was inside the top-10 in ninth place throwing 37-11.5.
Kaydence Fischer was 28th with his throw of 34-4.25.Â
•
Malicah Etienne took fourth place in the shot throwing 48-8.75.
• Anderson and
Guius Dabney finished back-to-back in 10th and 11th place. Dabney finished 10th throwing 45-7.25 and Anderson was 11th at 45-3.25.Â
Georgian Court will be right back at OceanBreeze next week for the ECC Championship meet. They compete Sunday, February 15 starting at 4 pm.Â
