GALLOWAY, NJ (March 21, 2026) - Georgian Court Track and Field got their 2026 outdoor season underway after a month off. They started the season on the right foot competing at the Stockton Invitational.
Sprints/Hurdles
• The Lions had one in the men's and women's high hurdles.
Shalom Adzakro won the 100m hurdles for the women running 16.47.
• GCU also won the women's 100m dash.
Daizhae' Brown ran 12.71 for the win. That time is a tie for sixth all-time at GCU.
• In the men's 100m,
Barone Vankline finished in fourth place. His time of 11.13 also puts him fourth all-time at GCU in the event.
•
Nick Jordan was the only Lion to run both the 100m and 200m. He was 31st in the 100m running 12.01 and 38th in the 200m running 24.18.
•
Brandon Rudder took third place in the 200m. He ran 22.38.
•
Marcos Murillo-Benavides ran 24.09 for 35th place in the 200m. He was 11th in the 400m running 52.94.
•
Sean Donnamaria led GCU in the 400m with a sixth place finish in 52.25.
•
James McCoy was 17th running 53.52,
Ryan Pettrow was 31st running 55.67 and
Abdul Brown's personal-best 59.70 placed him 35th.
•
Joshua Tipaldo competed at 100m running 13.32 for 53rd place.
• In the 110m hurdles,
Brian Kutney finished in 10th place. He ran 16.02 which puts him 10th all-time at GCU.
• After only just high jumping in the indoor season, Gary Boyd tried his hand at the 400m hurdles Saturday. He ran 1:00.58 to finish in sixth place. That time also puts him on the GCU all-time top-10 list at No. 10.
Distance
•
Nolan Kus ran three events. He was 16th in the 1500m running 4:30.62. In the 3,000m he took 20th running 9:53.62 and he was 24th at 800m in 2:13.68.
•
Zachary Spoonire had a top-10 finish in the 800m running 2:02.94 to place ninth.
Colin Broadbelt ran 2:13.87, finishing one spot behind Kus in 25th.
• At 1500m,
Matthew Schaub set a new PR running 4:33.31. That placed him 19th.
Luke McCormick was 34th in 5:02.93.
• Georgian Court had three in the women's 800m.
Nora Sprunger and
Molly Burns finished back-to-back in 14th and 15th place. Sprunger ran 2:44.74 and Burns 2:44.84.
Samantha Lonseth finished 25 in 3:04.83
•
Sophia Mauro took a second-place finish in the 1500m. She ran 5:04.05.
Brenna Sullivan was 29th in the event running 6:07.94.
Jumps
•
Juliana Dogostino and
Daizhae' Brown both cleared 4-7.75 in the high jump. Brown finished in a tie for third while Dogostino was sixth based on number of attempts.
• The Lions had two in the top-five of the long jump. Brown, after winning the 100m dash, also won the event jumping 18-7 which moves her to fourth all-time outdoors.
•
Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir took third place jumping 16-7.
• Jumping outdoors for the first time at GCU,
Sydney Hurley cleared 9-0 in the pole vault which immediately moves her to fifth all-time outdoors in Lions history.
• While Boyd ran the 400m hurdles for the first time, he also competed in the high jump. He cleared 5-9.25 and finished in eighth place.
•
Shona Mutokuto had a big leap in the triple jump. He jumped 45-1.75 which is fourth-best all-time outdoors at GCU and put him second in the competition.
•
Matthew Sutton took seventh in the triple jump with his mark of 41-6.5.
• The Lions had one long jumper on the men's side as
Chuck Smith finished 16th with a mark of 19-4.25.
Throws
• Georgian Court won both the men's and women's hammer throw on Friday. They took places 1-3 on the women's side.
Chiamaka Wokocha won the event throwing 141-1. She almost didn't even make finals, as she fouled her first two throws. She got off a legal mark and earned three more throws and had her best on her fifth event.
•
Adrianna Fodera finished second throwing 126-2. Kaydence Fisher was third at 117-7.
• For the men, it was
Mark Linton setting a massive personal-best in the event. He threw 176-1 on his final attempt to win the hammer and move up to second all-time at Georgian Court.
• The Lions had five finish in the top-10.
Cameren Anderson was third throwing 152-6. That moved him to seventh all-time in Lions history.
• Amir Spruell-Rivera finished fifth at 133-10.

Guius Dabney threw a personal-best 131-1 for eighth place and
Anthony Lorenzo followed in ninth throwing 129-6.
• Adriana Fodera threw both the shot put and javelin Saturday. She was third in the shot throwing a personal-best 39-4.5. She then took 14th in the javelin at 98-5.
• GCU had two more in the top-10 in the shot put.
Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir placed second throwing 39-8.5. That's a new personal-best for her and puts her in a tie for eighth all-time at GCU.
•
Kaydence Fischer was sixth throwing 35-10.5. She also took second in the discus throwing 128-1.
• After winning the hammer throw Friday,
Chiamaka Wokocha took fourth in the discus where she threw 117-6.
• Saturday was a good day for
Malicah Etienne. He won the discus throwing 163-2 and was the top collegiate finisher in the shot put throwing 49-11.
•
Cameren Anderson had two more top-five finishes. He was third in the shot put as his throw of 48-4.75 was good for third and puts him ninth on the Lions all-time top-10 list. Anderson also threw the javelin and was fifth at 172-10.
• After basketball season,
Thomas Menegus has joined the Lions throws crew. He set a new personal-best in the shot put throwing 44-7 for seventh place. He was also 19th in the discus at 106-10.
•
Amir Spruell-Everson also threw the shot and disc. He took 13th in the shot put at 40-9.50 and 24th in the discus at 104-7.
•
Guius Dabney set two personal-bests at the ECC Indoor Conference Championship to finish the indoor season. He started outdoors hitting an outdoor personal-best in the shot put throwing 47-7 for fourth place.
•
Anthony Lorenzo finished in 14th place in the shot put throwing 40-2.
Georgian Court remains in New Jersey next week. They'll compete at the Monmouth Home Opener next weekend, March 27-28 in West Long Branch.
