NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Sept. 28, 2026) - Georgian Court Volleyball sophomore
Keira Mullen had a powerful week for the Lions with a pair of outstanding individual efforts in games against Holy Family and Caldwell. Mullen's scoring prowess was on display and the outside hitter was named this week's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week.
In eight sets over two matches, Mullen averaged nearly five kills per set with 39 kills. While she took 88 swings, Mullen was more than just a volume accumulator as she hit .284 for the week. In addition to her scoring, Mullen averaged 3.25 digs per set on the defensive side and put back two blocks.
The week started with a 14-kill, 8-dig game at home against Holy Family in three sets. She hit .357 on the outside with just four errors. Mullen capped the week with collegiate career-highs 25 kills and 18 digs in a five-set match with Caldwell.Â
This is Mullen's first career CACC Player of the Week honor. Georgian Court went the entire 2025 season without a CACC Player of the Week. Mullen is the Lions' first since Nylene Mateo in November of 2024.Â
Mullen and Lions have a busy week in front of them. They'll play three matches starting Tuesday at Goldey-Beacom and finish a mini three-game road trip Thursday at Wilmington. The week ends at home for Homecoming Saturday, Oct. 3 when the Lions take on Post.
