LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ (April 20, 2024) - Georgian Court Track and Field was back in action Saturday afternoon for the second time this week. They competed at the Rider Invitational and put together another strong performance.
Throws
• GCU took second and third in the men's shot put as
Robbie Babson threw 51-3.75 and
Malicah Etienne 47-1.5.
Thomas Menegus was 13th throwing 38-7.75 and
Anthony Lorenzo 17th at 35-5.75.
•
Joseph Sauchelli also had a second place finish in the javelin. He threw 174-10 and was tied for first until the final throw of the day.
• Babson set a new personal-best in the hammer throw with a mark of 166-7 for fourth place. Lorenzo took 21st throwing 100-1.
• Etienne had a second place finish in the discus throwing 151-1. Menegus took 19th at 103-10.

Chiamaka Wokocha and
Sabrina Halk each had personal-bests in the hammer throw. Wokocha was ninth throwing 138-8 which puts her ninth all-time at GCU. Halk threw 107-3 for 20th place.
• Those two also threw the discus with Wokocha throwing 115-6 for eighth place and Halk 95-3 for 15th.
• In the women's shot put,
Ingrid Rivera-Zuniga threw 32-8.5 for 24th place.Â
Distance
•
Kyle Spector finished in second place in the 3,000m steeplechase. He ran 9:57.53.
• Two Lions set personal-bests in the 800m
Ryan Pettrow ran 1:59.24 for 14th place and the eighth-fastest outdoor time in GCU history.
Joe Jamolawicz also had a personal-best time 2:07.87 for 42nd place.
•
Thomas Rosky ran 2:14.64 for 51st place.Â
• On the women's side
Amirah Beasley ran 2:22.04 for 14th place in the 800.
Niya Barden was 38th in 2:32.02 and
Madalin Jones 53rd in 2:45.49.
Jumps
•
Malama Toure had a top-10 finish in the long jumo with her mark of 16-5 for 10th place.
Ingrid Rivera-Zuniga was 17th at 15-10.5.
•
Matthew Sutton jumped a GCU personal-best in the triple jump. He had a mark of 41-10 which was good for 10th place and moved him to seventh all-time at GCU.
•
Ivan Ramos-Lopez finished in ninth place in the pole vault clearing 10-11.75.
Sprints
•
James McCoy led GCU in the 200m. He ran 24.48 for a personal-best. He was also 35th in the 400m running 54.21.
• Sean Donnmaria paced the 400m group running 54.11 for 33rd place. Alexander Dejean was 44th in 56.10.
•
Joshua Tipaldo ran the 100m and 200m. He was 52nd in the 100m running 26.52 and 62nd at 200m running 26.52.
•
Ivan Ramos-Lopez finished the 100m in 11.53 for 200m and Dejean was 44th in the 200m at 25.75.
• In the 400m relay, the group of Pettrow, Jamolawicz, Rosky and Donnamaria ran 3:45.37 for 12th place.
•
Leela McConnell had a pair of personal-bests running 13.83 in the 100 for 23rd place and 29.31 for 41st at 200m.
•
Samantha Lonseth ran both the 100m and 200m. She was 32nd in 14.82 for 100m and 31.16 for 48th place in the 200m.
•
Molly Burns led the Lions in the 200m and 400m. She was 29th in 28.24 for 200m and 26th in 1:05.14 for 400m.Â
•
Selma Cazimoska had a PR in the 200m running 29.69 for 44th place and a PR at 400m running 1:08.29 for 33rd place.Â
• The 4x400m relay group of Beasley, Barden, Burns and McConnell finished in fifth running 4:22.47.
Next week is the final week of the regular season for Georgian Court. They'll be at both the Penn Relays and TCNJ Outdoor Invitational next weekend.
