LAKEWOOD, NJ (March 27, 2025) - Georgian Court Track and Field opened their season last weekend at the Stockton Invitational. They had such a nice time there, they decided to head back this weekend.

What to Watch
• Last season ended with both the Lion men and women taking fifth place at the CACC Championship.Â
• Georgian Court has 23 men entered to compete tomorrow afternoon. There are 14 scheduled on the women's side.Â
• The outdoor season brings with it new events, especially in the throwing events as the discus, hammer throw and javelin are all competed outdoors.
• On the track, the shortest sprint jumps from a 60m to 100m. That goes for hurdles as well with the 100m hurdles for women and 110m hurdles for men. There is also a second hurdle race added, the 400m intermediate hurdles.Â
• Mid-distance runners drop from the mile indoors to 1500m outdoors. There is also the addition of the 3,000m steeplechase and the 10,000m races.Â
Last Time Out
• Georgian Court had a very successful start to the outdoor season last week.
• The Lions saw a handful of event wins and personal-bests across the team.
•
Mark Linton was named the CACC Field Athlete of the Week and
Guius Dabney was the Field Rookie of the Week.Â
For the Lions
• GCU will have a full compliment of throwers which includes six on the men's side and five on the women's side.
• The mens have a strong contingent of 400m runners scheduled, with most doubling up at 200m.
• Georgian Court will have competitors in the high jump, triple jump and pole vault.
• Some members of the distance crew will be competing in the 10,000m race.
• Most will be running the 800m or 1500m (or both!)
Qualifiers
• The CACC has qualifying standards to meet to compete in the conference championship. Already, GCU has a number of student-athletes meet the standard after just one meet.
• On the track, only
Amirah Beasley and
Zachary Spoonire in the 800m have hit the standard so far.Â
• In the jumps,
Julian Rodriguez has hit the standard in the high jump and pole vault.
Ivan Ramos-Lopez also has the pole vault standard.

Tishanna Cohen and
Jewel Pierrecharles have the triple jump standard.
• Georgian Court is loaded up in the throwing events.
Robbie Babson,
Malicah Etienne,
Mark Linton,
Anthony Lorenzo,
Thomas Menegus and
Guius Dabney all have the shot put standard.
• Linton and Etienne also hit the discus and Linton, Babson, Lorenzo and Dabney have the hammer throw mark.
• Kaydence Fisher and
Adrianna Fodera hit the standard in the women's shot put. Fisher also has the mark in the discus and hammer throw while Fodera hit it in the hammer throw and javelin.

Chiamaka Wokocha and
Sabrina Halk hit the standard in the discus and hammer throw.
•
Ava Reardon and
Juliana Dogostino have the standard in the javelin.Â
Upcoming Schedule
• It may be the start of the season, but already there's only five weeks until the CACC Championships. That's once again hosted by Georgian Court, Friday-Saturday May 2-3.
• GCU will be in action every week until the conference meet.Â
• After Stockton, the only other meets in New Jersey will be for the Rowan Oscar Moore Invitational April 12 and the TCNJ Outdoor Invitational April 25-26.
• Their remaining meets, will be in the state of Pennsylvania, starting April 4-5 at the Ursinus Track and Field Carnival. They'll compete April 16 at the Shippensburg Midweek PR Bonanza and have a handful of athletes compete at the 2025 Penn Relays.Â
