Women's Track and Field

Men's and Women's Track Each Have Best Finish in Years at ECC Championship Meet

STATEN ISLAND, NY (Feb. 15, 2026) - Georgian Court Track and Field had one of their finest days on the indoor track in a long time. Competing at the 2026 ECC Indoor Track and Field Championships, both the men and women finished in the top-five. The men took second place, scoring 109 points. It was their best finish since the 2022-23 season where they shared a team title. The women scored 67 points and placed fifth, their best finish also since 2022-23 when they took second overall.

The Lions finished the meet with a total of five event winners, 10 All-ECC First Team performances (top-two finishes), nine All-ECC Second Team performances (3rd and 4th place), and 18 personal-best marks.

Throws
• Mark Linton's first throw in the weight throw was good enough to win the competition. He threw 57-10 to win the event.
• The Lions actually went 1-2 with Guius Dabney setting a big personal-best. He moved from fifth to second on his final attempt, throwing 51-9. That throw moves him to sixth all-time at GCU.
• The Lions scored 20 points in the weight throw as Amir Spruell-Everson finished seventh throwing 46-2.
• Cameren Anderson was ninth at 43-10 and Anthony Lorenzo 15th at 41-4.
• Georgian Court took spots 1-4 in the men's shot put, along with sixth place and scored 32 points. Cameren Anderson was the winner throwing 49-11.50. feet. The Lions have now won the event three straight years with three different winners and six straight years overall. There was no ECC Indoor Track and Field Championships meet in 2020-21. Of the six straight shot put champions, there have been five different winners. Only Robbie Babson was twice, doing so in 2023 and 2025.
• Malicah Etienne finished in second place in the shot throwing 48-5 and Mark Linton was fourth at 47-11.50.
• For the second straight event, Guius Dabney saved his best for last. He jumped over Linton for third place with a personal-best 48-0.75 on his final attempt of the day.
• Amir Spruell-Everson scored for GCU as well with a sixth-place finish and a mark of 43-7.50. Anthony Lorenzo took 11th at 37-6.50.
• Georgian Court had three of the four event winners in the throws. Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir won the women's shot put throwing a personal-best 39-7.25 which moves into the all-time top-10 at eighth in Lions history.
• Two others scored for the Lions in the women's shot put. Adrianna Fodera also had a personal-best throwing 37-7.25 to finish third. Kaydence Fischer took sixth at 35-11.50.
• Chiamaka Wokocha and Adrianna Fodera finished back-to-back in the weight throw. Wokocha threw 49-1 on her final attempt to place fifth. Fodera was sixth throwing 46-7. Those two were flipped heading into the finals, but Wokocha's final throw moved her into fifth place.
• Stephanie Rodas finished her day throwing the shot 27-6.25 for 18th place.

Sprints/Hurdles
• The first event winner of the day went to freshman Barone Vankline. He set two personal-bests in the 60m dash. In the prelims, Vankline ran 6.96 to qualify, becoming the third Lion to ever run below seven seconds in the race. He bettered that time in the finals, running 6.94 and won the event by two-thousands of a second, running 6.936 while second place finished in 6.938.
• Vankline came back later to take fourth place in the 200m running another personal-best time, 22.25.
• Another freshman, Daizhae' Brown, continued her fabulous season, setting a new school record in the 60m dash. She qualified for finals running 7.86, then broke the record in the finals running 7.73 and finishing in third place.
• Shalom Adzakro advanced to the finals in the 60m hurdles. She qualified running 9.67 in the prelims and was the seventh seed. She finished eighth in the finals running 9.72.
• Brian Kutney matched his PR in the men's 60m hurdles in the preliminary round, running 8.49 to get through with the third fastest time. He finished third in the finals as well, but set a big PR running 8.40 which moves him to third all-time at GCU.
• Behind Vankline in the 60m dash, Ivan Ramos-Lopez took 17th place running a season-best 7.25. Nick Jordan was 24th in 7.50 and Joshua Tipaldo 34th in 8.16. Jordan was also 31st in the 200m dash running 24.03.
• Stephanie Rodas had a personal-best in the 60m hurdles, running 10.76 for 12th place.
• In the men's 400m dash, Marcos Murillo-Benavides led the group running 53.24, which was near an indoor PR. Sean Donnamaria ran 56.26 for 29th place and Abdul Brown was 33rd in a personal-best time 59.82.
• Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir finished her terrific day with the 200m dash. She ran 27.10 for 18th place.

• Daizhae' Brown went right from the school record in the 60m dash to winning the long jump. She set a personal-best in that event as well jumping 18-8.5.
• Also setting a new PR in the long jump was Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir. She jumped 17-9.5, more than seven inches better than her previous best this season, to finish in sixth place.
• Tishanna Cohen was 13th in the long jump at 15-9.
• Brown was one jumper away from completing an ECC Championship sweep of the horizontal jumps. After the first three jumps, Brown was in sixth place heading into the finals. On her fifth attempt she moved all the way up to first jumping, 37-4.75. That mark lasted until the very last jump of the competition where her mark was matched. Brown took second place based on tiebreakers and had her third personal-best mark of the day.
• Coincidentally, the person she took the lead from was teammate Tishanna Cohen. Cohen ended up finishing third overall at 37-2.75 which is an indoor PR.
• Shona Mutokuto hit a personal-best in the men's triple jump and scored a second-place finish to earn All-ECC honors jumping 46-4.75.

• In the women's vault, Sydney Hurley had a nice day, setting a personal-best and clearing 9-5.0 to finish eighth.
• Ivan Ramos-Lopez had an indoor personal-best jump in the vault. He jumped 13-6 to finish in eighth place as well.
• Gary Boyd, Jr. took a sixth place finish in the men's high jump as he got over the bar at 5-10.0.
• Julianna Dogostino snuck a point for the Lions in the high jump. She cleared 4-11 on her final attempt at the bar to finish in eighth place and set a new indoor personal-best.

Distance
• The men's distance team picked up points in the mile where Ryan Pettrow finished in second place. He ran 4:25.56 for the All-Conference nod. Matthew Schaub was 11th in the event running 5:04.72.

• Pettrow competed in the 800m not long after his second place finish in the mile. It was a good effort, but he finished 19th running 2:09.77.
• Running the 3K/5K double was Nolan Kus. First up for the senior was the 5K. He led for almost the first half of the race, but fell off and finished in eighth place running 16:26.52.
• Kus finished the day with another eighth place finish. He ran 9:36.66 for the 3K. Also in the race was Luke McCormick who ran 10:21.09 for 16th place.
• Sophia Mauro secured GCU points in the women's 800m run. She finished fourth in a personal-best time 2:19.22. That time moves her all the way up to second in the event indoors.
• Nora Sprunger wasn't far from a personal-best herself. She ran 2:40.84 for 25th place. Samantha Lonseth did set a new PR, running 2:55.30 for 37th place.
