NEW HAVEN, Conn. (March 9, 2026) - Georgian Court Baseball freshman
Frankie Noviello has been getting a lot of play in the outfield during his first season with the team. He's taking advantage of the opportunity and this week was named the CACC's Rookie of the Week.
Noviello went 3-7 at the plate for the Lions as they played a three-game set at Pitt-Johnstown. One of those three hits was a double and he drove in a team-high three RBI this week. Noviello also walked twice to bring up his on-base percentage to .556 and stole a base.Â
In the Lions 8-6 win over the Mountain Cats, Noviello went 1-3 with a two-RBI single to give the Lions a 6-5 lead in the sixth inning of a seven-inning game. He followed that up with a double and an RBI as part of a two-hit game in the second game of the doubleheader with Pitt-Johnstown. While he didn't get a hit in the rubber game, Noviello still found a way to be productive, drawing a walk, stealing a base and scoring a run.Â
Noviello's Rookie of the Week honors comes on the heels of Georgian Court's first CACC and NCBWA East Region Player of the Week in
Brian Guzman.Â
Georgian Court opens up conference play this week against Bridgeport and Lincoln (PA).Â
