Championship History
• Georgian Court men won three straight CACC Outdoor Championships from 2019-22 (there was no meet in 2020 due to COVID-19).
• The Lion women also had a nice run of success winning nine straight CACC titles. That too came to an end in 2023.
• Last year, the Lion men nearly pulled off an upset, finishing in second place by two points, scoring 125 points. The women scored 78 and finished fifth.
Previously at the CACC Championship
• Georgian Court's men's squad finished second last season scoring 125 points.
• The women had a fifth place finish with 78.
• The women had three event winners:
Amirah Beasley,
Kaydence Fischer, and
Ava Reardon.
• Three men men were crowned CACC Champions:
Ivan Ramos-Lopez,
Robbie Babson (2x), and
Mark Linton.
• Additionally, 10 Lions were named All-CACC in 13 events.
Georgian Court Awards
• Georgian Court finished the CACC regular season earning 18 total Athlete of Rookie of the Week awards.
• They picked up their most last week, winning six of the eight available.
• Following their last meet, GCU swept all four on the women's side with
Shalom Adzakro and
Adrianna Fodera the respective Track and Field Athletes of the Week and
Sophia Mauro and
Daizhae' Brown the Rookies.
• The men had the Track Athlete and Rookie of the Week in
Ryan Pettrow and
Brian Kutney.
• Leading the way with three weekly awards was
Daizhae' Brown.
Chiamaka Wokocha,
Chuck Smith,
Mark Linton and
Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir all earned two.
GCU Rankings
• In the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings, Georigan Court ranks first in the CACC on the men's side and have moved up to sixth in the region.
• The Lion women rank fourth in the conference and 11th in the East Region.
• The USTFCCCA Event Squad rankings has the GCU men's discus throwers ranked 15th as a squad. They are in the top 30 in three throwing events, as they're 27th in the shot put and 29th in the hammer throw.
• The women have two top-60 rankings, sitting 44th in the shot put and 58th in the hammer throw.
National Qualifiers
• Earlier in April, both
Mark Linton and
Malicah Etienne hit national qualifying marks in the discus.
• They are two of eight total athletes from the CACC to have hit provisional qualifiers.
New Look Top-10
• On the outdoor top-10 list, Georgian Court has 38 new marks for 2026.

Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir is in the top-10 in four events while
Daizhae' Brown is up to three.
• Fellow freshmen
Sophia Mauro in the 800m and
Sydney Hurley in the pole vault have cracked the top-10. Last week Mauro set a new school record in the 1500m.
• Throwers
Adrianna Fodera,
Kaydence Fischer and
Chiamaka Wokocha have seen improvements in the shot put, discus and hammer throw, respectfully.

Shalom Adzakro set a new PR last week in the 100m hurdles and entered the top-10 in the long jump.
• In the men's throws, there have been eight new marks.
Cameren Anderson stamped his name in the record books in all four throwing events.

Guius Dabney in the shot put,
Malicah Etienne in the discus and
Mark Linton and
Amir Spruell-Everson in the hammer throw have new 2026 marks in the top-10.
• The Lion men set three new school records this year. Two from
Barone Vankline in the 100m and 200m and
Mark Linton in the hammer throw.
• The sprints also have
Brandon Rudder with new PR's in the 100m and 200m,
Nick Jordan in the 100m dash,
Brian Kutney in the 110m hurdles and
Gary Boyd, Jr. in the 400m hurdles.

Zachary Spoonire in the 800m,
Nolan Kus in the 5K and
Matthew Schaub in the 10K represent the distance runners in the top-10 this season.

Shona Mutokuto and
Matthew Sutton in the triple jump,
Chuck Smith in the long jump and
Sean Donnamaria in the pole vault are four GCU jumpers with top-10 marks in 2026.
• The men's 4x100m relay team of Rudder, Jordan, Kutney and Vankline are closing in on a new school record and are second in program history, just .16 seconds behind the 2022 record.
